Organic extra-dry perry · Tribute Cuvée

Cuvée Abel

Abel Pitrou (1923-1967), founder of the estate, who planted its first trees

A tribute to Abel Pitrou, who founded the estate in 1923. Eighteen months' ageing on fine lees, traditional disgorgement: the same rigour as the great champagnes, applied to pear. Elegance and length are its signature.

A perry made like a great sparkling wine: 18 months' ageing on fine lees, then traditional disgorgement. The mousse forms in bottle, méthode ancestrale, with no added yeast or sulfites.

Heirloom perry pears, selected plot by plot. A fruit distinct from dessert pears, long confined to the Domfront area.

Abel Pitrou founded the estate in 1923. He settled in the Val-ès-Dunes and planted his first apple and pear trees. It was the beginning of a story his family continues four generations later.

His cuvée is a perry, a little-known Norman drink, made here with the rigour of a great sparkling wine. Eighteen months on lees, traditional disgorgement: the patience of champagne, in the service of a forgotten fruit.

Yes. The estate has been organic since 1967. All our ciders and perries are free of added sulfites, 100% pure juice, made using the traditional method with the cellar's wild yeasts.

Store the bottles lying down, away from light, so the cork stays moist. Each product page states the serving temperature. Age-worthy cuvées, such as Jean-René or Extralucidre, gain complexity after a few years in the cellar.

Payment is made by card via Stripe. The transaction is encrypted and we never store any card data.

Our bottles are certified for reuse. You can bring them back to a collection point in the national network: they are washed, then reused as they are. It's the most effective way to cut a bottle's footprint.
